It all starts with baby steps, but today was a pivotal day! Our girl really made great strides in getting her strength back.
The most wonderful sight to behold today was the change in Angela’s color. Post surgery she was so pale, tonight looking at her she’s got the rosy color back in her cheeks.
Angela’s day started at 5 AM, it’s nice to be in a place where they bring the chest x-ray machine to you! Talk about bedside service! After the doctor’s review…drum roll please…they pulled out Angela’s chest tubes!!! She’s a free woman. However big this was… her day was far from over.
Angela also ate some food today, who doesn’t love applesauce? Laurie brought in a yummy Jamba Juice which she drank down in minutes… can we live on this stuff?
Physical Therapy came by and began teaching her (and us) all about how to be safe while recovering from chest surgery… many good tips came from this time. Angela also took a short walk down the hallway saying, “This is not so bad”.
In the middle of all the days’ events, there was still plenty of time for her to take a few naps. She’s made big steps today, can’t wait for tomorrow, it’s sure to be another rosy day!!!
Meanwhile, back at the ranch! Camryn & Hayden are doing very well. Through this whole journey our support team in Sacramento, and everywhere, has been the glue holding our family together. Knowing that the kids are home feeling safe and secure has made all the difference in Angela’s ability to focus all her energy on healing. For that we are VERY grateful!
Love,
